We spent a little over a week exploring the winter wonderland of Norway. While it was quite cold, having the right layers and almost daily sauna time made it pretty pleasant. Highly recommend taking the train from Oslo to Flam for amazing views and visiting Voss for skiing – conditions are great and crowds were slim over New Years.

Accommodations:

• Oslo: Comfort Hotel Grand Central – pretty basic hotel but super convenient to the train and walking around downtown Oslo
• Voss: Scandic Voss – right at the train station and gondola for skiing. Great sauna with a nice view over the lake
• Flam: Fretheim Hotel – cool historic hotel walkable to everything in Flam
