Curaçao

January 2026

We enjoyed a lovely winter getaway to Curaçao with our best travel friends, Ally and Andrew. The island is pretty small, and five days was the perfect amount of time to explore the sights, enjoy great food, and relax on its beautiful beaches.

Accommodations:

  • We rented a two-bedroom condo through AirBnB at the Blue Bay Golf and Beach Resort complex. The complex is in a central location on the island, and has its own beach and restaurants. We had an infinity pool with resident iguanas right outside our unit and Dave and Andrew raved about the golf course.

Tours and Activities:

  • Curaçao’s coastline is dotted with small beaches rather than one long stretch of sand. Many of these beaches have a restaurant, sun loungers available to rent, and reefs just offshore, making snorkeling incredibly easy. Some of our favorites were Porto Marie (aka Pig Beach), Kokomo, and Kalki.
  • Shete Boka National Park was a highlight of the trip, with huge waves crashing along the rocky coast and easy paths to explore the surrounding cliffs and inlets.
  • The Hato Caves were another memorable stop, getting to explore the caverns and limestone formations while learning more about the island’s geology and history.
  • We enjoyed wandering around Willemstad and catching the pontoon bridge as it opened to let ships pass through the harbor. Netto Bar is a must-stop for their famous green rum cocktails.
  • Some of our favorite restaurants were Hofi Cas Cora, Dal Toro, and Maira’s Kitchen. Just remember you are on island time!
